Lessons in Leadership for NYC Managers
If you don’t think you have the time to attend a full day training class but would like to hone your workplace skills, then “Lessons in Leadership” is for you. These customized, two-hour end-of-the-workday seminars are designed to assist you in learning how to manage more effectively while discovering new approaches and solutions for the many challenges you face at work.
Presented in cooperation with the DCAS Citywide Training Center, these sessions offer you the opportunity to share best practices and network and with managerial colleagues throughout the City of New York, while building your skills as a public sector manager.

This session will focus on the differences between management and leadership, what people expect and respect in a leader, and the requisite skills that are needed to lead, inspire, and influence for maximum impact.

Communicating for Optimum Outcomes
Is the mission of your message accomplished? This session will examine effective communication strategies to build better work relationships, foster team commitment, and achieve desired outcomes.

Managing the Challenging Employee
Is the “challenge” from the employee, the situation, or the relationship? In this session participants will examine behaviors and attitudes that label a person as “challenging” and develop techniques to formulate and communicate positive behavior goals for the employee.
