Salary Increases
The MEA represents all managers with the Mayor's Office of Labor Relations (OLR), and at all other city agency negotiations,
i.e. Comptroller, DCAS and city commissioners.
Member Representation
For individual manager work related problems we advocate for understanding or resolution of the problem with agency officials.
Generally, we receive more than 300 calls a year to assist managers.
Pension Counseling
This benefit enables MEA members to learn about the various options which are available to them under the NYC
Employees Retirement System prior to a member's retirement. A personal counseling session is available by appointment.
Annual Scholarship
Children of MEA members in good standing, both active and retired and managers advancing their skills are eligible for scholarships awarded annually - on a one time only basis.
Financial Planning
Seminars are conducted to educate our members on strategies to improve their financial status and help them to become informed investors.
Legal Services
We are pleased to announce our Legal Services Benefit Program for active and retired members of the NYC Managerial Employees Association, their spouses and their domestic partners now includes our members’ children and parents. This program continues to provide access to quality services covering a wide range of legal matters that are non-job related. Key components of the program include free consultation, a preferred client rate for additional legal work, and seminars on various legal topics.

This membership benefit will be made available through the Law Offices of Stuart Salles, a full service firm located at 225 Broadway, New York, NY 10007, just south of City Hall. The Law Offices of Stu Salles has been providing legal counsel to civil service employees, both managerial and non-managerial, for the past thirty years. Mr. Salles has been Counsel to the Civil Service Retired Employees Association since 1972 and has written articles for their monthly newspaper. He is a frequent lecturer at seminars and symposiums concerning a variety of issues ranging from the establishment of legal plans to the delivery and content of both civil and criminal services.

A newsletter, The New York City Manager, is distributed to our members to provide them with information and analysis on matters of interest to them. Each member also receives a complimentary weekly subscription to The Chief-Leader which contains timely information on city employment issues and controversies.
